Aside from creating websites for wrestling promotions, creating a website for a stand up comedian or comedy club was the next target I had as a project that I wanted to get under my belt as an example. To do this I approach a comedian I had seen a few times at the Edinburgh festival to propose working on an example project and from there I was off to the races with my first comedy website.
Given the subject matter it was a very different approach to making this site as content can be kept to a minimum and photography and general media is something that could be given more prominence. As such the home page is made up of two large image sections and even the navigation of the website is able to be kept behind a permanent trigger to allow the site to fill the space.
While being a new type of site there is a lot of cross over with project I’ve previously made with the biggest being the use of the WordPress Events Manager plugin to create a “gig” listing that can be updated easily and act as a landing page for people to see when/where they can see Adele preform.
Other than that the rest of the site is made up of some basic content pages/areas and the main focus really is to create a web presence that can be easier to find a short notice.
