About the project
Adding to a now growing portfolio of Wrestling websites I was approached by Shropshire based SWA to create their website with an aim to helping them control ticket and merchandise sales along with event listings and photography all in one place.
After developing the intial design and iterating through some small changes the build process of this site was very collaborative, including the client along the way to ensure they would be able to take the reigns and update the website themselves going forward.
This was the first chance I had to integrate sales channels into a wrestling site and the SWA team planed to run both tickets and merch sales though this site. To achieve this two different product detail pages were created with the ticket pages allowing for a number of variables such as the type of ticket that was being bought.
Further to the sales through the website SWA were keen to find a way to best use the even photography that they had built up in the time they been running. To achieve this the event section of the website was set up to change functionality once the date of an event had passed. This meant that all of the event information could be kept such as the show poster and the date/location, but the SWA team could also go back in and upload the photo assets they had which would then create a gallery of images on the front end of the site under a past event archive.
