Another small website that came to me through my day job. The Chepstow fuel centre were looking to update a long standing website to something more modern that would allow them to better sell gas bottles and refills online.
The Chepstow website presented with only a small amount of needed information across the pages so the design of the site was kept modern but slim lined meaning that the users attention isn’t distracted by any unneeded page elements. However even in that somewhat small brief there were some interesting challenges that made for a great project to get involved with.
The first and more simple problem was a way to change out the landing page banner depending on the day/time of the week so that users looking to get gas at the weekend would be directed to get in touch directly so as not to need to wait for someone to be back in the office on on Monday. This was achieved with some simple php coding that had fallbacks where possible to make sure the time that it was checking against was accurate.
